This Blog will develop as time goes on, and as I figure this site out. However, I will be using this site to keep up with my MMA over all picks.

UFC Fight Night 19

Steve Cantwell vs. Brian Stann

I see Cantwell Stann 3 not going well for Stann. As bad as I want to root for Brian on this one, because he grew up near me, I see The Robot winning this one. Cantwell hung in there with Cane and that’s something I do not see Stann being able to do.

Cantwell Round 2 TKO

Chris Wilson vs. Mike Pyle

This fight will either go one of two ways. Either the BJJ stalemates each other and we have ourselves a brawl with two just above competent strikers, or this hits the mat and someone goes for the throat fast. I am thinking the latter. Quicksand will take this one by submission.

Pyle Round one Submission

CB Dollaway vs. Jay Silva

Its no secret the ufc Likes CB Dollaway. He has yet to really impress me, but I see the arch of his career on an upward momentum. I imagine Jay Silva will have the UFC first fight jitters, and I hope he comes out in an exciting fashion. However, I think CB has done some favors for the UFC, and he is calling them in. Silva seems to be a great candidate for some resume padding, but I expect him to come out with nothing to lose!

I see CB not allowing Jay to get comfortable in the fight, and taking it early.

Dollaway Round One TKO

Sam Stout vs. Phillipe Nover

These guys have something in common. They either have all, or most of their losses in the UFC. Stout seems like an obvious choice, but Nover will be fighting for his UFC life. If he rises to the occasion, even if he loses, I expect him to get another shot.  However, I see Stout as a step up in competition for Nover. A step he isn’t ready to take yet. If Sam has been sharpening his striking it will be over quick for Nover. I see the hands of stone Molly whopping Phillipe quickly, and getting his hand raised.

Stout Round One TKO

Jeremy Stephens vs. Justin Buchholz

I see Buchholz hit early, and going for the take down. Depending on if he gets that take down is how long this fight will last. Either way I see the Lil Heathen swarming Justin early. I  wonder how this fight could hit the second round.

Stephens Round One TKO

Brock Larson vs. Mike Pierce

Larson hasn’t lost a fight since 2007, against Carlos Condit. Pierce has only dropped One of his last Ten. The difference is Brock has a much more solid resume then Pierce. Pierce seems to have a solid chin.  I see this one going the distance, but I see Brock out pointing Pierce.

Larson Decision

Ryan Jensen vs. Steve Steinbeiss

Style vs Power. Which one? I have to go with style and technique on this one. Jensen knows where his bread is buttered, and will get it to the ground fast for a submission. Most likely the Rear Naked Choke.

Jensen Round One Submission

Nate Quarry vs. Tim Credeur

Nate has 2 losses in the UFC. One to Rich Franklin, and one to Maia.  This is a huge step up for Tim, and I see experience being a big factor in this fight. Nate needs to swarm Tim early. Credeur’s last two wins have been in the second round, and if Nate doesn’t let him get comfortable he won’t be able to win. I see this one ending fast with a possible KO of the night candidate.

Quarry Round One TKO

Carlos Condit vs. Jake Ellenberger

Condit would be the quick pick on this one, because it is Jake’s first UFC scrap, However, Jake is not wet behind the ears in MMA. If I had to pick an under dog on this card it would be Ellenberger. I see the Natural Born Killer getting his first TKO loss.

Ellenberger Round Three TKO

Gray Maynard (No. 6 LW) vs. Roger Huerta

Huerta is expecting this to be his last UFC fight. Its his last fight on his UFC contract, and according to a recent interview he hasn’t been offered a fight until now. He has taken advantage of his time off, but Gray Maynard will not be acting when he hits the octagon on fight night. I really wish Roger would stick to fighting, but I understand he wants to go make some “real money” in a few films.   There has been talk of Gray getting a title shot with a win, but if roger wins and splits who is next? I don’t think Gray will let that happen. I see a submission coming from Maynard early in the fight. I am sure Huerta is physically ready, but we will see if he is mentally in this fight. I would say he isn’t.

Maynard Round One Submission

Nate Diaz vs. Melvin Guillard

This has fight of the night written all over it.  I see such a bright future for Nate Diaz. So I may be biased here. I have been a fan of his for a long time. He actually enjoys punching people, and getting punched. Its entertaining to him when he is choking people out. I appreciate that as a fan. He is coming off two losses by decision to Guida and Stevenson respectively. The young assassin is riding a three fight winning streak, but he also has a loss to Stevenson. Melvin has a history of being submitted by chokes, and that makes for great news for Diaz.  I see Nate keeping Melvin away with his reach, and waiting for Melvin to over commit. When that happens, he will take down Guillard and choke him.
